The Muslim Psychotherapist with Lived Experience

Duha in Arabic translates to the "morning sunlight." Duha Therapy is inspired by the beautiful verse in the Holy Qur'an called Surah Ad Duha. This Surah came down as a reminder to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that he was never abandoned by Allah even when he felt alone. Allah reminded the Prophet ﷺ of his past successes, to not think negatively, have the motivation to succeed, and to set clear targets. The Prophet ﷺ was most dear to Allah. Do we not then believe that He is also there to support us when feel a dip in our mental health?
Duha symbolizes a new beginning, hope, and the light of a new day. Just like the sunrise brings warmth and light, therapy can bring healing and transformation. At Duha Therapy, expect to be in a space that invites positivity, growth, and the pursuit towards new beginnings. As you work through your journey, you will be working collaboratively with your therapist to identify a path that aligns with your goals.
As Muslims living in the west, it can be tricky to navigate intersecting identities of religion, culture, and western lifestyle. At Duha Therapy we help clients with:
