Who We Are

Duha Therapy was created as a space of light, renewal, and hope. I wanted to build a practice where people feel truly seen - in their culture, their faith, and their lived experiences.

Today, my work extends beyond the therapy room through community education, speaking engagements, advocacy, media, and board service, with the goal of making culturally responsive mental health care more accessible.

Building Duha Therapy also meant finding my own voice - one that now extends beyond therapy through education, advocacy, and community leadership.

About Me

Meet Faizah Latif, MSW, RSW

I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) licensed in Ontario and Quebec, and I help individuals navigate anxiety, ADHD, depression, self-esteem, identity, and family dynamics. I currently also work as a Counsellor at the University of Waterloo, where I support post-secondary students with mental health and identity-related challenges. My approach blends clinical training with cultural and faith-based insight so that you feel truly recognized and supported every step of the way.

My path to this work is personal. As a Muslim woman growing up in the West, I wrestled with questions of identity, belonging, and cultural expectations. Later, I faced difficult relationships that tested my sense of self. Through those experiences, I discovered resilience, the importance of boundaries, and the strength that comes from faith. These lessons now guide my practice; I know what it means to rebuild, and I walk alongside my clients as they do the same.

Those experiences continue to shape not only how I work with clients, but also how I advocate for more accessible and culturally responsive mental health care beyond the therapy room.

The Duha Difference

✔ Therapy that honours your faith without making assumptions.

✔ Mental health care that understands culture - not just acknowledges it.

✔ A space where you don't have to explain who you are before healing can begin.

✔ Evidence-based therapy grounded in compassion, identity, and belonging.

In just over two years, Duha Therapy has supported hundreds of therapy sessions while growing into a practice recognized nationally for culturally responsive mental health care.

More About Me

Outside of therapy, you'll usually find me spending time with family, exploring new places, swimming, or curled up with my cat, Nemo. I'm someone who finds joy in simple moments- good conversations, coffee, nature, and rewatching The Office. These everyday moments remind me that healing isn't only about overcoming hardship; it's also about learning to notice what brings us peace.

You Don't Have to Navigate This Alone

If you are ready to begin your journey toward clarity and renewal, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
